An overview of RACI and how to use it in your projects
If you’re reading this, you’ve probably heard of a RACI Matrix, but you’re not exactly sure what it is or how it’s used in projects.
Chances are you’ll end up needing to use a RACI Matrix at some point in your Project Management journey. So, let’s get into what exactly a RACI Matrix is and how it is used.
What does RACI stand for?
R = Responsibility
A = Accountability
C = Consulted
I = Informed
These categories are laid out in a table so that you know who is doing what for a particular task under each RACI category.
What is the purpose of a RACI Matrix?
A RACI Matrix is a good tool to understand an overview of everything that has to happen from the perspective of maintenance and sustainability. It answers questions about who will be responsible, accountable, who needs to be consulted, and who needs to be informed.
Deep-dive into each RACI category
If you really want to understand the RACI, you’ll need to understand what each category of the RACI Matrix really means, not just what it stands for.
