Discipline is actually a beautiful thing. When you have it, life is good. You wake up every morning and make the best of a new day, trudging forward on any project currently on the radar. You resist that unhealthy snack, you put things away where they belong, you exercise regularly, your work habits are good, you show up to meetings on time, you have a laser beamed focus. Without discipline you drift in many directions, not really heading towards your goals. But how do we get there if we don’t have it.  In these next blogs that I’m highlighting below, we’ll discover if we can find the answers we need:

1. Top Leaders Maintain High Expectations and Self Discipline

Brian Tracy’s blog explores the characteristics that leaders possess. ‘Leadership comes more from who you are inside than from what you do on the outside. Leaders maintain high expectations, character, and self-discipline.’ Forcing yourself to persist until you succeed might seem like strong-armed advice, but trust me, incorporating discipline into your life will only make it better. Try his suggestions and let me know what worked for you.

2. Leadership Traits – Discipline

The Project Management Hut blogs about discipline by identifying specific qualities that disciplined organizations often exhibit. Steve Jobs showed exceptional focus when he paired back his product offering so he could make the remaining products industry leaders. Focusing on just a few products is an excellent example of Jobs laser focused discipline.

3. Leadership = Discipline

What a lovely, powerful read. The kind that makes you go, aah! Lots of tough questions are asked about where you lack discipline, which holds you back from achieving greatness. Can you pinpoint where you lack discipline: is it your actions, your time, or perhaps your laziness?

Discipline helps you consistently take action. Try to add some discipline in your life and say hello to a new and improved you!

How do you build self-discipline? Feel free to leave a comment below or shout out to us on Facebook or Twitter. Of course, you could always write your own blog post on the subject and share it with us… We’d love to read it!
