An overview of project quality management for beginners
Quality management needs to be considered in all project deliverables. There’s no point in getting a deliverable done just to find out that you have to redo a lot of work to ensure it meets with quality standards. So, here’s an overview of creating a project quality management plan.
Why have quality management?
In the fast-paced world we live in, you need to build quality into your deliverable from day one to minimize your rework. If you don’t consider the quality of your deliverable, it will have a major impact on your project from a standpoint of time, scope, and budget.
As you’re executing your project, if you didn’t think about quality, you’ll end up needing to do a lot of re-work. So, it’s critical to integrate quality management from day one because you don’t want to be caught at the end realizing you never took into account regulations or standards that you were supposed to meet.
Understand objectives and details
This is where your scope statement is really important because you have all the detail in there. You’ll need to take a look at your justification, scope statement, and all the items that are in and out of scope.
Your scope statement plays a huge role in your ability to set the stage from day one and build quality management into your project plan.
