Everything you need to know about Kanban as a project manager!
Have you heard about Kanban in projects but really need Kanban explained?
Kanban is a great methodology that you can use in your next project. Here’s how!
Kanban definition
What is Kanban?
Kanban is a methodology for managing your tasks in an agile way that allows for everyone to see the progress of all the tasks associated with your project.
This is done on a board; it can be a physical board like a white board with sticky notes, or it can be done on a software program where you use cards to indicate all your project tasks.
This is used to show a particular flow because a Kanban board is set up in columns: To Do, In Progress, and Done.
You’ll start your tasks in the “To Do” section and then move it over as you go, allowing everyone on your team to see the progress of their own tasks as well as everyone else’s.
The key to Kanban is that everyone must be an active participant for it to be effective, but it really is a great way for everyone to visually see the project’s progress.
Kanban example
It might be easier for you to understand this with an example. I’ve created a video over on YouTube that walks you through a Kanban board so that you can better understand how this methodology works and how it could be beneficial for your project!
Head on over to YouTube with me and we’ll finish talking about this there.
Meanwhile, if you really are committed to mastering your next project, do consider taking my SLAY Project Management online course where I show you step-by-step how to successfully manage a project, plus you get access to every template you will need, along with detailed video instructions on how to fill them out.
