A CLEAR breakdown of the different types of project management!
There are many different types of project management methodologies. When you’re getting started with project management, it’s important to understand all of them so that you can pick which one works the best for your projects.
Here’s an overview of some different methodologies to give you a better understanding of the different types of project management.
Keep in mind that methodologies are just that… methodologies. The approach you take to your projects is going to depend on what kind of project you’re managing and what happens to work best for that particular project.
Waterfall Project Management
Waterfall Project Management is the most traditional project management method and it’s very linear in the way that it is executed.
Waterfall Project Management is broken into different phases, and you can’t move on to the next phase until you finish everything in the current one.
An example?
You can’t build a house without a foundation… and you can’t build a foundation unless you dig out a place for it.
Waterfall methodology is a great way to ensure that you’re following the project management methodology step-by-step without missing anything.
Agile Project Management
Agile is an iterative approach that focuses on continuous release of requirements and customer feedback.
Agile is about looking at smaller requirements, going through the cycle, and then moving on to the next set of requirements.
There are multiple different types of project management that fall into the agile methodology.
