Small Changes that Drive Big Improvements

Have you ever wondered why some teams fire on all cylinders while others constantly miss their deadlines? Often the difference lies in how those teams are impacted by the organization’s work flows.

I’ve been bringing lean methodologies to organizations for 20+ years to help them streamline their processes, and in that time I’ve seen how small changes lead to big improvements in team performance.

Lean methodology is like the secret sauce for unlocking a team’s potential, eliminating inefficiencies, and helping an organization thrive.

How exactly does Lean help teams?

You can have an amazing group of team players, but if the company’s processes and ways of working are inefficient, then the team will struggle to do a good job. (It’s always a big a-ha moment for people when I kick off my Lean 101 workshop and tell them this.)

Lean doesn’t change the performance of individuals on a team – instead it:

  • identifies and eliminates inefficiencies in processes
  • creates more efficient ways of working
  • ensures teams are doing the right things at the right time, and in the right way

What results does Lean deliver?

Lean is a customer-centric way of working that focuses on maximizing value and minimizing waste to deliver:

  • better estimates of deadlines and deliverables
  • better communication and collaboration
  • improved morale and engagement
  • higher levels of efficiency, creativity, and innovation

To explain how lean principles help organizations get those results, I made a video that explains defining value, eliminating waste, and continuous improvement.

Follow me over to YouTube and we’ll keep chatting about this!

And, if you’re curious about how lean methodology could benefit your organization’s teams, let’s connect to talk about my one day Lean 101 Workshop!
