Changes you’ll see in the project management world going forward
In the ever-evolving work world, project managers need to stay on top of everything.
With all the technology advancements like Artificial Intelligence, and our ever-changing work culture, you need to understand the trends coming your way in project management in the near future.
Here are some trends I’m starting to see in the project management world this year.
Trend #1: Online mentorship
I’m seeing online mentorship more and more in the professional world recently.
Why?
Specifically because we are living in a hybrid professional world where many people work from home instead of – or in addition to – going to the office.
Online mentorship means that you can stay connected, learn, and grow digitally. This is a trend in the professional world as a whole, but especially in project management – there are tons of online communities (just like my YouTube channel and SLAY Project Management programs) where project managers are supporting, mentoring, and teaching each other.
Trend #2: Simplicity
When it comes to project management, simple is hard and complex is easy.
When it comes to simplicity, you have to spend lots of time, energy, and effort thinking through your plan and approach. You can’t just check things off your task list without putting thought behind it.
Otherwise, you’ll create layers of issues down the road for those who are using the deliverable that you’ve had to implement. That’s why simplicity is increasingly being built into project plans.
Don’t disregard simplicity – lots of energy and effort goes into it!
