How to pick a project management course that’s right for you.
Thinking about taking a project management course but overwhelmed by all the options? You’re in luck! My team and I did a comparison of several top PM courses and identified some key things to look for before you invest.
What are the course’s reputation and reviews?
Before you punch in your credit card number, consider the reputation of the person actually teaching the course. How long have they been working in project management? Do they have experience in different industries and fields? Bottom line – you want to learn from someone who knows what they’re talking about!
On top of qualifying the instructor, take a look at what other students who’ve taken the course have to say. Looking at both reputation and reviews will help ensure you’re investing wisely!
How long will it take to complete and how is it delivered?
Will it take days, weeks, or months to complete the course? Is the learning self-directed and self-paced, or do you have to follow a scheduled timeline?
If you need to finish the course by a certain date – to land an interview for instance – or you work irregular or long hours, a self-paced course is likely best for you. On the other hand, if your days are flexible and this is a long-term career investment, a course that runs on a scheduled timeline might work for you.
Considering the length of the course and its delivery format will help you pick a course that matches both your schedule and your goals.
What else should you consider?
There are several more things to keep in mind when picking a project management course, so I made a video that explains them all. Follow me over to YouTube where I run through the whole list!
