Don’t be afraid to colour outside the lines
I want to share with you a truly uplifting, empowering experience I had. I wrote and recorded my very own song. I was challenged by my good friend, Adam Michael, who is an amazing and talented musician. He kept on saying, “Adriana, we need to get you in the recording studio but it will have to be with an original song”. The first time he said this I laughed it off and was terrified at the same time: I was nervous to write a song, I’m not a song writer, and I’m busy. I can’t do it….so I proved myself right for a period of time and didn’t do it. I finally changed my mind when I took a deep look at my personal vision statement and starred at the portion of my statement that represents music. I love music! It feeds my soul. I feel alive and complete when I play the guitar and sing. I realized that by declining the challenge I was creating my own roadblock. Nowhere does it say I can’t write and record my own song. This was a roadblock I created and supported with many excuses. How many times have we all done this? How many times have we all said no to opportunities because we’re afraid or are just too busy?
This realization that I was my own roadblock stopped me in my tracks. I was so grateful I had my visual vision statement to remind me what was truly important to me. So I took the challenge from Adam and started to create my very own song. The words flowed from me in a weekend. I wrote a song about following my heart’s desires and not being afraid. I wrote a song that has become my very own personal “theme song”. The song is called Hear Me.
Once I finished writing it I realized that it was always in my path to create this song. I felt so empowered after the recording and was sharing the uplifting experience with anyone who would listen. Then I had a spark of an idea to create Theme Songs for organizations which would support an already existing vision statement. I approached some clients and they accepted. They loved the idea and how it rallied their employees to do something that was unique and innovative. What’s really cool is that we are now offering this as a service.
I am so grateful for my personal vision statement and for having the courage to follow it. Because if I didn’t follow what was important to me, as shown on my personal visual vision, I would never have created my own song which never would have led to this new service that we are now offering and I love doing.
I share this with YOU because we all have greatness in us. The question we need to ask ourselves is whether we are following it, or are we creating roadblocks that are stopping us from reaching our full potential? Remember all great shifts start with you. Take an honest and heartfelt look inside yourself and ask: Are you your own roadblock?

Adriana’s Personal Theme Song
Hear Me
We came together in harmony
Our wants and desires just the same
Individually searching for answer
Seeking approval to be the same
The task was simple, the rules laid out
But something inside was not right
My heart nudged me to open my eyes
And to my surprise see you using me
I felt betrayed, I began to retreat
But stopped as my heart sang to me
Chorus:
Hear Me, Listen to Me
Speak what I say
Raise your voice and say I am me
Say Hear Me, Listen to Me
Speak what I say
Raise your voice and say I am me
I froze for a moment as fear seized me
I wondered what I could do
Looking upward guidance was given
I knew instantly that I must do
I found my strength, I began to feel
Myself rising as I sang
Chorus:
Hear Me, Listen to Me
Speak what I say
Raise your voice and say I am me
Say Hear Me, Listen to Me
Speak what I say
Raise your voice and say I am me….me……me
Empowered now and feeling so good
Confidence soaring to new heights
I listen to what was right
Feeling free to believe in me
Soaring now, I begin to see
The power of being me
Chorus:
Hear Me, Listen to Me
Speak what I say
Raise your voice and say I am me
Say Hear Me, Listen to Me
Speak what I say
Raise your voice and say…
Raise your VOICE and say…
RAISE your voice and say…
Raise your voice and say I am….ME
