Easiest ways to find your first clients and break into project management consulting
Are you trying to start off your career as a project management consultant but just don’t know how to get your first clients?
Getting your first clients as a project management consultant can feel like a daunting task, but there are a few tangible techniques you can pursue that are reliable ways to find your first clients.
Establish your offering
If you’re a project management consultant and you’re trying to get your first client, it is really important that you understand exactly what your services are.
There are so many different project management consultants out there, so what do you bring to the table that would really benefit your clients? What strategies do you have and what is your approach to running projects?
Smoothing out all those details and actually understanding what it is that makes you stand out and makes you an asset is a critical first step to getting your first clients.
Optimize your LinkedIn
LinkedIn is an amazing networking platform and it’s one of the first places you should go. You already likely have a large network on LinkedIn that you can use to your advantage when it comes to looking for your first clients.
So, what should you focus on when it comes to optimizing your LinkedIn?
The first thing to look at is your profile. Take a look at it and ensure that it is explaining who you are and what you can offer. Be very clear with what your services and offerings are so that those who look at your profile don’t have huge questions or confusion about what you do.
Once you’ve done that, put some posts out announcing that you’re now consulting. This will help get the word out there because you never know whose feed your post will pop up on, and it’s good to get your consulting services on everyone’s radar.
Other ways to get your first clients
These aren’t the only reliable ways to find your first clients. There are a lot of other methods you need to know if you want to not only find your first clients but find the RIGHT clients. Head over to YouTube with me so that we can keep chatting about this topic!
