How to turn your high-stress environment into a positive one
Have you ever worked in a low-trust environment? This makes for a really stressful atmosphere and nobody wants that. So, you need to learn how to build trust on your teams for a better and more productive working experience.
-
Be accountable
If you’re leading a team, it is so important as a leader that you practice what you preach.
Remember that it’s about walking the talk, not just talking the talk. You need to show to your team what your expectations are.
This helps everyone understand that all are being held at the same level of expectation, which builds trust and makes it feel like a safe environment.
-
Build morale
When people are connected and enjoy their work, it has a positive impact on everything else going on.
When this trust is built amongst team members, it even impacts productivity and collaboration, which is really important to any team.
So, ensure that you’re building morale. You can do this with team-building activities that get people connected and bring about appreciation.
-
Open communication
If you want your teams to be connected, you need to ensure that they know how to communicate effectively.
Set the tone for this by being really intentional and skilled with your own communication. This will help them feel safe bringing up their feelings and will give them the trust that any issues they bring up will be dealt with immediately.
