Boost your morning routine
In today’s video, I’m going to teach you how to wake up early and be more productive in 3 easy tips.
Why is it that you have to wake up early and be productive in the morning – well, it is all about choice and guess what, you have it! Every single time you do research on successful people, the number one thing that I hear and read over and over again is that successful people wake up early. I do agree with that because there is so much to get done in a day that if you get up early and actually get your things done, you are apt to get all those critical items that you really need to have happen so when your day occurs and all of a sudden it goes off kilter, it is not that big of a deal because you have already got a lot of your key elements done.
What are the three quick tips to waking up early and being productive?
Tip #1 – Prepare the night before
In my world of efficiency, for a lot of my corporate clients when we look to how to improve their ways of working and their processes, one of the things that I am not only looking to streamline is there are tasks that you have to do no matter what and what we do is we offload them. We actually put them at a place that is not at your critical point in time. So by being productive in the morning and waking up early, you get a lot of your prep work done in advance of, the night before. It makes a huge difference. For example, you want to pick out your clothes the night before, you want to set up your coffee machine, even make your lunch and of course, most importantly, set your alarm clock. This is something new if you are going to be getting up early. Preparing the night before makes a big difference so that when you wake up, there is no excuse, you have everything at your fingertips. It is about moving forward and getting things done. So that is a huge thing we do in the corporate world by taking those key items and putting them at a different time slot – big way to be more productive in the morning.
Tip #2 – Meditate
I’d like for you to contemplate meditating for 5 minutes. “What?” is what I sometimes get when I tell this to my corporate clients because there is a lot of mindfulness that is now happening in the corporate world because we recognize and realise that stress is a huge factor and by us being more mindful in our activities, we actually have the ability to reduce our stress levels…and guess what, be more productive. So when I say to you to think about meditating, sometimes people say “that seems kind of counterintuitive Adriana, it is slowing me down – I want to be more productive, I want to move fast”. One thing I have learned over the years with mindfulness and meditation, is that if you slow down, sometimes that actually speeds you up. The research behind mindfulness which I want you to go check out some links below in regards to that research, is really powerful because if you start connecting with your purpose, you start having an inward glance, even if it is only for 5 minutes, it sets you on the right path and tone, allowing you to be more productive in the morning.
Tip #3 – Work on something new
In the morning because you are getting up now early, you have no distractions, I’d like you to work on something that you have either been putting off or is something that is really important towards your goals allowing you to move forward towards your dreams and desires. That is going to be a critical time set because as we all know in the day we fire fight constantly or we get distracted. So by focusing your attention on those items first thing in the morning, earlier than you normally would, you are apt to actually get it done.
Following those three tips will get you into a more productive mindset by waking up early and being more productive.
