How to ensure your team stays productive as a project manager!
As a project manager, it is your job to ensure your team is at its best with productivity.
When your team’s productivity suffers, your project will surely suffer – and that’s the last thing you want. A motivated, productive, efficient, and collaborative team will deliver a successful project.
So, how do you ensure that this is the case?
1. Know your team’s strengths and weaknesses
If you want to have a high-functioning, productive team, then you need to have an understanding of what their strengths and weaknesses are.
Delegating the correct work to the correct individuals will go a long way when it comes to keeping your team on track, motivated, and highly productive.
2. Set realistic goals
When you’re doing your project, you need to make sure that everyone is on the same page about what they’re delivering, the timeline, and the expectations around it.
When expectations are unclear, it becomes difficult for team members to accomplish the necessary tasks and achieve the goals of the project.
So, set goals and expectations right from the beginning to ensure that your team stays effective and productive all the way through the project.
3. Track project status
This may seem like a no-brainer, but it tends to be something that people forget to officially track.
You need to have overarching milestones for your project team to strive for – and you need to remind them of those milestones, because they need to remember what tasks they have that are specifically associated with those milestones.
Tracking the project status and assessing where people are at with their tasks will really give you a glimpse into where your project is at overall so that you can course-correct quickly and ensure that your team remains productive.
