Don’t Get Left Behind in 2025
Project management is evolving faster than ever. If you’re a project manager who wants to stay ahead, it’s important to focus on upskilling. Mastering my five project manager skills in particular will not only help to keep your projects running smoothly, it will also ensure your career keeps moving forward.
Skill #1 – Tech-Savviness
Unless you’ve been hiding under a rock, you know that staying competitive in today’s world of work means being comfortable with tech, especially AI tools and other forms of automation.
Staying up to date on AI and tech tools can help you be more efficient and accurate on your projects. Just be careful to review AI outputs for accuracy. Remember AI is a tool to help you, not a cut and paste solution.
Skill #2 – Conflict Resolution
The reality is, you will always have conflict on a project so it’s crucial you know how to deal with it to succeed as a project manager.
Pay attention to problems that crop up and don’t ignore them. Call together the parties involved, make sure everyone is heard, and help them resolve their conflict in a way that satisfies everyone involved and stays true to project goals.
If you’re a new PM, know that your confidence with conflict resolution will grow with practice!
More must-have skills for PMs
I have more to share on the crucial skills you need to succeed as a PM, and I’d like to explain them all clearly. Check out this video I put together that dives into the top five crucial skills every project manager needs.
Follow me over to YouTube and we’ll keep chatting about this!
